Baseball Game Preview: Lee Academy Colts vs. North Delta Green Wave

Lee Academy hasn't had much luck against North Delta recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lee Academy Colts will head out on the road to challenge the North Delta Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. Lee Academy has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Lee Academy is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 15th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They fell 15-12 to North Delta. One positive for the Colts, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

For North Delta's part, Herron Williams was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Williams is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as he's now brought in four or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Hoshell, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

North Delta was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

North Delta is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. Lee Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
