Softball Recap: Waldron Mohawks vs. North Decatur Chargers

Waldron extended their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 5-8. They lost 15-0 to the North Decatur Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-2 on Thursday.

As for North Decatur, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games.

For North Decatur's part, Brooklyn White and Brynlee Green were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, White didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Green tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. White has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, White got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Green got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Carmen Thackery and Madison Rohls did most of the damage at the plate: Thackery went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Rohls went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Rohls has posted since back in April of 2025. E Wilson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Looking ahead, Waldron will welcome Eminence at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Decatur, they will square off against Rising Sun at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Shiners have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
