Basketball Recap: Piedmont Classical Takes a Loss

Piedmont Classical lost against Bishop McGuinness last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Piedmont Classical Bobcats were beaten by the Bishop McGuinness Villains 80-32. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-20.

Adelaide Jernigan was her usual excellent self, going 13-for-23 en route to 32 points and six boards for Bishop McGuinness. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Jernigan has scored at least a third of Bishop McGuinness' points. Another player making a difference was Claire Sullivan, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 15 points and four steals.

Piedmont Classical's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Bishop McGuinness, their victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-2.

Piedmont Classical does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop McGuinness, they will take on Carver at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bishop McGuinness' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
