Volleyball Recap: South Bend Saint Joseph's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

South Bend Saint Joseph had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Triton Trojans.

South Bend Saint Joseph had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-22, 15-8.

Despite the loss, Triton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Savannah Hawley had eight blocks and six kills. Hawley has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last five times she's played.

South Bend Saint Joseph's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Triton, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-8.

South Bend Saint Joseph didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Churubusco on the 20th. As for Triton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Manchester on the 20th.
