Softball Game Preview: Robertsdale Golden Bears vs. Saraland Spartans

The Robertsdale Golden Bears will head out to take on the Saraland Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Robertsdale can't be too worried about heading out to take on Saraland: they just beat Gulf Shores at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Golden Bears came out on top against the Dolphins by a score of 8-4 on Wednesday.

Robertsdale saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brielan Adams, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave Adams a new career-high. Another was Blakelynn Dunlavy, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Saraland's hitters rose to the challenge against a Tigers pitching crew that boasted an average of only 2.47 runs allowed on Tuesday. The Spartans blew past Baldwin County 11-2. Considering the Spartans have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Robertsdale has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-15 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Saraland, their victory bumped their record up to 24-10-1.

Robertsdale might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Saraland in their previous meeting back in February. Can the Golden Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
