Softball Game Preview: Williamston Hornets vs. Haslett Vikings

The Williamston Hornets are taking a road trip to face off against the Haslett Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Williamston managed to slip by Lansing Catholic the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hornets came up short against the Cougars on Thursday, falling 13-3. The Hornets' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Williamston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thea Fortin, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Haslett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 23-0 to Holt.

Haslett's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Williamston, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.

Williamston took their victory against Haslett when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
