Saint Mary put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 70-60 victory over the Bethel Jaguars. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Jaguars are ranked 414th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Saint Mary's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0. As for Bethel, they moved to 5-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saint Mary's won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Marin Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Marin Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Bethel, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on El Cerrito at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
