Baseball Recap: Tucumcari Wins Going Away Against Pecos

Tucumcari had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Pecos on Tuesday. The Rattlers blew past the Panthers 22-9. The win continues a trend for the Rattlers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Jadon Navarro and Pat Garcia did most of the damage at the plate: Navarro got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Garcia went 4-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Garcia is becoming a predictor of Tucumcari's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2 (and 3-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jase Aughtman, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Tucumcari was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .617. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Tucumcari's record now sits at 8-9. As for Pecos, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.
