Baseball Game Preview: Gateway Charter Griffins vs. Northside Christian Mustangs

The Gateway Charter Griffins will square off against the Northside Christian Mustangs on Monday. Gateway Charter has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Gateway Charter had taken Immokalee down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. Gateway Charter came up short against Immokalee, falling 11-2.

Gateway Charter saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Edilson Alvarez, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Christopher Marrero was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Northside Christian, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against Montour by a score of 6-3 on Saturday.

Gabe Currier looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Gateway Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Northside Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
