Basketball Game Preview: Americas Trail Blazers vs. Parkland Matadors

Americas is 8-0 against Parkland since November of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Americas Trail Blazers will look to defend their home court against the Parkland Matadors at 7:30 p.m. Americas is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Americas against Horizon as the squad secured a 58-30 victory. The Trail Blazers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 21 points or more this season.

Americas' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was CHRISTIAN BACA, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points and five steals. BACA has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of MATT MAGDALENO, who posted eight points in addition to eight boards and six steals.

Meanwhile, Parkland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 51-43 defeat to El Dorado.

Parkland's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Americas, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Everything came up roses for Americas against Parkland when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 68-25 victory. Does Americas have another victory up their sleeve, or will Parkland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
