Baseball Game Preview: Renaissance Academy Knights vs. Delaware County Christian Knights

Renaissance Academy will head out to challenge Delaware County Christian at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Renaissance Academy's hitters has struggled lately (they haven't scored a run in four consecutive games), something the team is no doubt ready to change.

Monday just wasn't the day for Renaissance Academy's offense. They lost 16-0 to Bristol on Monday.

Delaware County Christian couldn't beat Bristol on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Knights took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Matteo DeBellis was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Dixon, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Delaware County Christian's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-7. As for Renaissance Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Renaissance Academy suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to Delaware County Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can Renaissance Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
