Basketball Recap: Tualatin Now 11-1 over Last 12 Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Tualatin walked away with it. They came out on top against the Sandy Pioneers by a score of 79-70 on Wednesday. Given the Timberwolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Pioneers are ranked 96th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tualatin is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.7 points over those games. Sandy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-16.

Looking ahead, Tualatin will be playing in front of their home fans against South Salem on Saturday. South Salem knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Tualatin likes a good challenge. Sandy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
