Basketball Recap: Magnolia Comes Up Short

Magnolia lost against Klein Collins back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Magnolia Bulldogs had to suffer through a 65-21 loss at the hands of the Klein Collins Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 874th, while the Tigers are ranked 87th).

Klein Collins was led to victory by Hailey Neal and A'Niyah Harmon. Neal went 8 for 13 en route to 25 points along with six boards and five steals, while Harmon went 8 of 16 on her way to 17 points in addition to seven assists and seven steals. Harmon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Christen Campbell was another key player, putting up six points.

Magnolia has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Klein Collins, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-6.

Magnolia will take on Tomball at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Klein Collins, they will square off against Klein Cain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Klein Cain: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Klein Collins has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.
