Baseball Recap: Upland Takes a Loss

Upland made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Etiwanda, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Highlanders fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Highlanders in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Upland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angelo Mantilla, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Upland's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11-2. As for Etiwanda, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 19-7.

While Upland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
