After losing to Merrill the last time they met, Breckenridge decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Huskies put the hurt on the Vandals with a sharp 17-6 victory on Monday. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Leah Wale made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off nine hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Breckenridge got a massive performance out of Ava Colthorp, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Colthorp has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Emma Tinson, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBI.

Breckenridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Breckenridge now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Merrill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Breckenridge will square off against Montabella at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Merrill, they will head out to face off against Chippewa Hills at 4:00 p.m. on the 27th.
