Baseball Recap: North Buncombe Comes Up Short

North Buncombe managed to slip by McDowell the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. North Buncombe lost 14-2 to McDowell on Friday. The Black Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 1-0.

North Buncombe saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grey Reedy, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Another was Kameron Keenan, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, North Buncombe hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in six consecutive contests.

North Buncombe's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for McDowell, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Buncombe will host Mountain Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for McDowell, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Erwin at 6:30 p.m.
