Recap: Berry Cardinal vs. Harding University Rams
The Berry Cardinal's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight defeat. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to Harding University. Berry was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Harding University apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Berry still got an impressive performance from Zahnia Long, who scored 29 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Long has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Breelove, who scored nine points.
Berry dropped their record down to 2-16 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Harding University, their win ended a 16-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-15.
Berry will head out on the road to take on Myers Park at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Berry focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday. As for Harding University, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-57 loss vs. West Charlotte on the 9th.
