Baseball Recap: Priory Triumphs

Crystal Springs Uplands typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Priory proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Gryphons by a score of 7-4. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Gryphons two weeks ago, they had to take a 10-4 defeat.

James Weaver spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kai Park, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Harrison Kim also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Priory and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for Crystal Springs Uplands, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.

Priory will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Gryphons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
