Recap: Depew Hornets vs. Davenport Bulldogs
Even though the Depew Hornets have not done well against the Davenport Bulldogs recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Depew blew past Davenport 57-8 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Depew sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Depew got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Burdick out in front who threw for 200 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Mateo Wren got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Depew's win bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Davenport, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Depew will challenge Regent Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Regent Prep is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Davenport, they will head out on the road to face off against Drumright at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Drumright has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 560 points over their last ten matchups.
