Basketball Recap: American History Takes a Loss

American History came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the East Side Red Raiders, falling 87-42. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Red Raiders: they've now lost five in a row.

Ihjamir Williams and Ah'Mad Woodard certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Williams posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and five blocks, while Woodard put up 15 points. Williams has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last 23 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ahmad Davis, who scored four points along with five boards and three steals.

American History's defeat dropped their record down to 19-8. As for East Side, they pushed their record up to 13-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up.
