Basketball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Indianapolis Scecina Memorial's Winning Streak

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Indianapolis Scecina Memorial can now relate to. They took a 37-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Triton Central Tigers on Saturday. The Crusaders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 53-50.

Leading Triton Central to victory were Eli Sego and Silas Blair. Sego went 5-for-12 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, while Blair shot 71% from the field en route to 10 points and five rebounds. That's the most rebounds Sego has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cael Butler, who earned six points.

The loss snapped Indianapolis Scecina Memorial's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-15 record. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 13.5 points across that stretch. As for Triton Central, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-9.

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Triton Central, they will take on University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. University knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Triton Central likes a good challenge.
