Recap: West Logan Christian Academy Warriors vs. Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders
If the West Logan Christian Academy Warriors were riding high off their 72-33 takedown of the Bloomingdale Blazers on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. West Logan Christian Academy fell just short of Greater Beckley Christian by a score of 61-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacob Walls, who scored 26 points. Walls scored a full 44.1% of West Logan Christian Academy's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jordan Adams was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Kellan Heffernan was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 23 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Averyk Woodson, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
West Logan Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Greater Beckley Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.
West Logan Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wyoming East at 5:00 p.m. on December 16th. As for Greater Beckley Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Webster County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
