Basketball Recap: Hamilton Christian Warriors vs. Archbishop Rummel Raiders
After flying high against Merryville last Tuesday, Hamilton Christian came back down to earth. The Hamilton Christian Warriors came up short against the Archbishop Rummel Raiders on Friday, falling 63-41. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Raiders are ranked 27th).

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Javon Vital, who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Vital is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Shawn Weston, who had ten points.
Even though they lost, Hamilton Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive games.
Archbishop Rummel had a senior duo take command as TJ Duhe on his way to 22 points along with six assists and four steals and Jackson Cosentino en route to 20 points and eight rebounds. Cosentino also set a new season-high mark in field goal percentage with 80%. Jamarcus Jones was another key player, putting up six points and seven boards.
Hamilton Christian's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Archbishop Rummel, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-10.
Hamilton Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Archbishop Rummel, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-41 win against Iowa on the 22nd.
