Basketball Recap: Unity Christian Comes Up Short

Unity Christian lost against Pathway Christian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Unity Christian Knights were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to the Pathway Christian Panthers. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Unity Christian lost, don't look at Nathan Woessner. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Woessner a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Thomas Hayes, who posted six points.

Pathway Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryker Miller, who earned 14 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Denver Nelson, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Unity Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Pathway Christian, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Unity Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pathway Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-65 victory against Rivermont Collegiate on the 4th.
