Softball Recap: Tennessee Comes Up Short

Tennessee blew West Ridge out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday West Ridge got their revenge. Tennessee fell just short of West Ridge by a score of 6-4. The Vikings just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Lily Ware was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Carleigh Warwick also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Even though they lost, Tennessee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. This was only their first loss (out of five games) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Tennessee now has a losing record of 4-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tennessee will venture away from home to square off against Unicoi County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Ridge, they will face off against Gate City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
