Clarkson/Leigh posted their closest victory since September 20th on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Stanton Mustangs 2-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-1 win back in September.

Clarkson/Leigh had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-12, 25-18.

Despite the defeat, Stanton had strong showings from Rylan Hansen, who had 14 digs, and Hazel Schellpeper, who had seven digs and one assist.

Clarkson/Leigh is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. As for Stanton, their loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-7.

Clarkson/Leigh does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stanton, they will square off against Wakefield at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
