Volleyball Recap: East Hartford Falls Short Against Ranked Maloney

East Hartford faced Maloney in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Hornets lost 3-0 to the Spartans. The loss continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.

East Hartford was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-16, 25-13.

Josh Ikechukwu paced East Hartford's offense, picking up 17 kills. Ikechukwu got some help from Ethan Lopez and his 25 assists.

East Hartford now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Maloney, the win keeps they at an undefeated 7-0.

East Hartford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Simsbury on the 23rd. As for Maloney, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against South Windsor on the 21st.
