Baseball Game Preview: ConVal Cougars vs. Pelham Pythons

The ConVal Cougars will take on the Pelham Pythons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. ConVal's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Tuesday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

ConVal managed to slip by Bow the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cougars came up short against the Falcons on Monday, falling 11-0. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly 11 runs.

ConVal saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garret Rousseau, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Rousseau has hit this season.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Pelham nor Coe-Brown Academy made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Pythons narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bears 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pythons have posted since May 10, 2024.

Justin Bowlan was excellent, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Nick Muise was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Pelham now has a winning record of 4-3. As for ConVal, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

ConVal couldn't quite finish off Pelham when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 10-8. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
