Meade County got themselves on the board against DuPont Manual on Thursday, but DuPont Manual never followed suit. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past the Crimsons  1-0. For the Green Waves, this counts as revenge for the   5-2 victory the Crimsons walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in May of 2024.
Not much got past  Kaelyn Ledford, who gave up just  two  hits and racked up seven Ks to keep DuPont Manual off the board. Ledford has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Meade County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Annsley Adkisson, who  went 2-for-3 with one  RBI. Those  two  hits gave  Adkisson a new career-high.
Meade County is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for DuPont Manual, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 16-8.
 Coming up, Meade County will face off against South Warren at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for DuPont Manual, they will take on Butler at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday.
