Volleyball Recap: St. Ignatius Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Archbishop Moeller

St. Ignatius faced Archbishop Moeller in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Fighting Crusaders by a score of 3-2. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Fighting Crusaders earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

When it comes to explaining why St. Ignatius lost, don't look at Andrew Brobbey. Despite the final result, he had 26 assists and six digs. Brobbey has been hot for a while, having posted 19 or more assists the last 25 times he's played. Carson Nekic also deserves some recognition as he had his first dig of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Ignatius and nudges their season record down to 12-3. As for Archbishop Moeller, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Ignatius will square off against St. Edward at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
