There's no place like home for Sierra Vista, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Garey Vikings on Thursday. This was payback for the Dons, who suffered a 7-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Raul Zelaya spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Sierra Vista saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jose Aguayo, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Sierra Vista's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Garey, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sierra Vista will host Duarte at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Garey, they will square off against Azusa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Garey is facing Azusa at the right time seeing as Azusa is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
