Football Game Preview: Littleton Lions vs. Holy Family Tigers

For the first time this season, Littleton will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to take on the Holy Family Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Littleton hasn't scored more than six points for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 48-6, which was the final score in Littleton's tilt against Denver North last Friday.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Holy Family beat Mead 27-21 on Friday.

The critical scores for Holy Family came from Roman Ochs, Iker Alfaro, Nick Leopardi, and Chase Brandstatter.

Holy Family didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ashton Price and Brandstatter. Brandstatter got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Littleton now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Holy Family, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Thursday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Littleton has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 162.2 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Holy Family, though, as they've been averaging only 79 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
