Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Liberty can now relate to. They took a 48-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wakeland Wolverines. The Redhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Madison Epps was nothing short of spectacular for Wakeland: she went 7-for-12 en route to 17 points and six boards. That's the most points Epps has posted since back in December of 2024. Charlotte Cavin was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 21-14. As for Wakeland, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 29-6.

Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wakeland, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-60 victory against Anna on the 13th.
