Baseball Game Preview: Phoebus Phantoms vs. Menchville Monarchs

Phoebus is 0-10 against Menchville since May of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Phantoms will look to defend their home field against the Monarchs at 4:30 p.m. Phoebus has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Phoebus is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Gloucester, falling 23-5.

Phoebus saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Blunt, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Menchville made sure to put some runs up on the board against Smithfield on Monday. The Monarchs walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Packers. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Monarchs' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Menchville's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Phoebus, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Phoebus suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Menchville when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Phantoms avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
