The Cox Mill Chargers will head out to square off against the Hopewell Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cox Mill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Cox Mill is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Mooresville just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 10-4.

Cox Mill got a good showing from Mason Hill, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Hill has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tyler Cartee was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trendyn Motley, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Hopewell got themselves on the board against West Charlotte on Tuesday, but West Charlotte never followed suit. They blew past the Lions 15-0. Considering the Titans have won six contests by more than 14 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hopewell is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. Cox Mill's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.

Cox Mill couldn't quite get it done against Hopewell when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as they fell 8-3. Can Cox Mill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
