Hueytown is 9-1 against Oak Grove since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Golden Gophers will host the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Hueytown proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 16) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Jasper.
Bryanna Kemp made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Kemp was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on S Dyson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
Hueytown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jasper only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Oak Grove made easy work of Pleasant Grove on Monday and carried off a 23-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 12 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Rowan Wilson was a standout: she scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Kami Smith, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Hueytown's victory bumped their record up to 21-13. As for Oak Grove, their win bumped their record up to 19-14.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hueytown has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .460. However, it's not like Oak Grove struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hueytown took their victory against Oak Grove when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 16-0 score. Do the Golden Gophers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
