Basketball Recap: Chloe Dick's Big Game Can't Quite Lead New Lexington over Tri-Valley

After flying high against Meadowbrook last Saturday, New Lexington came back down to earth. The contest between the New Lexington Panthers and the Tri-Valley Scotties didn't end well, with the New Lexington Panthers falling 54-36. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 45-35 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

New Lexington lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Chloe Dick, who posted 12 points. Gracie Newlon was another key player, putting up eight points.

New Lexington has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Tri-Valley, they pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

New Lexington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 67-48 defeat against Ironton on the 13th. As for Tri-Valley, they will be taking part in a tournament against New Philadelphia at 1:00 p.m. on February 15th.
