After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Oswego, Lemont was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Evergreen Park Mustangs. The Lemont HS might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.
Claire Podrebarac made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had over her last three contests. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
In other batting news, Natalie Pacyga was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Maya Hollendoner was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Lemont's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Evergreen Park, their record now sits at 9-7.
