Volleyball Recap: Lewisville Farmers vs. Red Oak Hawks
Lewisville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Oak Hawks. If the Farmers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Hawks when the teams met back in September of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Natalya Becker paced Lewisville's offense, picking up five kills. Becker got some help from Aubrey Dean and her ten assists.
Leading Red Oak to victory were Maleah Ellis and Jillian Giddens. Ellis had 12 assists and four digs, while Giddens had five digs. That's the most digs Giddens has posted over her last five matches. Alyssa Williams also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Lewisville's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Red Oak, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Lewisville has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Kaufman on the 29th. As for Red Oak, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Hutto on the 29th.
