Basketball Game Preview: Decatur Community Red Devils vs. Dighton Hornets

The Decatur Community Red Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Dighton Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Decatur Community is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 19, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Wallace County, falling 50-25. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Wildcats are ranked 23rd).

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Dighton beat Greeley County 45-41 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Decatur Community's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for Dighton, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Decatur Community took their victory against Dighton in their previous matchup last Saturday by a conclusive 47-25. The rematch might be a little tougher for Decatur Community since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
