The Girard Indians will face off against the Salem Quakers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Girard is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
Girard had taken West Branch down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Indians fell 3-1 to the Warriors. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 25-15 in the first set.
Girard started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-16.

Despite the defeat, Girard had strong showings from Kyra Bell, who had 17 digs and five aces, and Chloe Plant, who had 24 assists and nine digs. Plant has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Keely Meszaros, who had ten digs and one assist.
Meanwhile, Salem lost 3-0 to Crestview on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Quakers in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost six in a row.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-13, 25-19.
Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Girard, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-14.
Everything went Girard's way against Salem when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Girard made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Quakers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
