Volleyball Recap: Waukegan Triumphs

Waukegan got their first taste of in-conference action on Wednesday and they started things off strong. They skirted past the Zion-Benton Zee-Bees 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since April 15th.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Waukegan got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 22-25, 25-21.

Jason Ardon was the offensive standout of the match as he had 17 digs and one assist. Those 17 digs gave him a new career-high. David Brown also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Waukegan's record is now 18-11. As for Zion-Benton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-26.

Waukegan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Zion-Benton, they will host North Chicago at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
