Baseball Game Preview: McEwen Warriors vs. Waverly Central Tigers

The McEwen Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the Waverly Central Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Waverly Central took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on McEwen, who comes in off a win.

McEwen let Kenwood stack seven runs on them in the sixth inning on Thursday but luckily McEwen prevailed anyway. The Warriors put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 14-8 win.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Waverly Central faced off against Trinity Christian Academy on Thursday. The Tigers fell just short of the Lions by a score of 4-2.

McEwen's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Waverly Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

McEwen might still be hurting after the 15-3 defeat they got from Waverly Central when the teams last played back in April of 2021. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
