Football Recap: Lawrence-Nelson Extends Winning Streak to Six

Lawrence-Nelson extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Wyatt Frey. The Raiders claimed a resounding 73-8 win over the High Plains Storm thanks in part to Frey, who rushed for 86 yards and three TDs, and also picked up 42 receiving yards and one touchdown. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played.

One reason for the win was Lawrence-Nelson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Grayhm Beck with two. Lawrence-Nelson received some extra help from Joel Hoelting, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Lawrence-Nelson's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for High Plains, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lawrence-Nelson is set to face off against their familiar foe Giltner at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Frey and Brody Rudy. Meanwhile, High Plains will take on rival Deshler at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
