Baseball Recap: Colfax Victorious

Colfax and Bear River pushed the score to 11-10 the last time they played Bear River, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Falcons' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bruins a 4-0 shutout. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered an 11-10 loss the last time these two teams met.

Jaimeson Rawlins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Colfax is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-7-1 otherwise. Rawlins was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Lucas Clark was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Colfax now has a winning record of 10-9-1. As for Bear River, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-9.

Colfax will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bruins: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
