Football Recap: Fort Atkinson Blackhawks vs. Jefferson Eagles
Fort Atkinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 41-6 loss at the hands of the Jefferson Eagles. The Blackhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.
Wyatt Strupp was a one-man wrecking crew For Jefferson. as he rushed for 143 yards and three TDs on only five carries, and also picked up 46 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Strupp a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bentley Wagner, who threw for 138 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes.
Fort Atkinson's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Jefferson, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Fort Atkinson and Jefferson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings.
