Basketball Recap: Holdenville Falls Short of Jones in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Holdenville couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 57-47 to the Jones Longhorns on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolverines in their meetings with the Longhorns: they've now lost three in a row.

Holdenville's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mike Piza, who shot 47% from the field to rack up 16 points and four steals. Piza's big performance that afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Wyatt Seeley was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven steals.

Holdenville's defeat dropped their record down to 23-6. As for Jones, their victory bumped their record up to 15-10.

As of now, neither Holdenville nor Jones have any future games scheduled.
