Softball Recap: Maiden Takes a Loss

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Maiden was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Foard Tigers. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Mariah Khang spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Maiden saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddy Clontz, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base.

Maiden now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Foard, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

While Maiden had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
