Volleyball Recap: Meade Comes Up Short

Meade was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Colby Eagles. If the Buffaloes were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Meade couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Colby a tough time in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 30-28, 25-14.

Despite the loss, Meade saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jayven Conley had 17 digs. Those 17 digs set a new season-high mark for Conley.

Meade's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Colby, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13.

Meade has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Bucklin on the 23rd. As for Colby, they will square off against Ulysses on Thursday.
