Soccer Game Preview: Greenbrier East vs. South Charleston + Official Tickets

The Greenbrier East Spartans will face off against the South Charleston Black Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Greenbrier East knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully South Charleston likes a good challenge.

Greenbrier East is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Woodrow Wilson, who was ranked 20th at the time (Greenbrier East was ranked eighth). The Spartans never let the Flying Eagles get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Tuesday. Greenbrier East might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, neither South Charleston nor Cabell Midland could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Greenbrier East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2-1 record this season. South Charleston's draw makes their record 2-8-4 this season.

Everything went Greenbrier East's way against South Charleston in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Greenbrier East made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Black Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
